5-(2,4-Difluoro-phenylsulfanyl)-2-methanesulfonyl-6-methoxy-quinoline 101 (230 mg) was dissolved in 9 mL (1:1:1 MeOH/THF/H2O) and was treated with 1 gram of OXONE™. After 3 hours the mixture was partitioned between CH2Cl2 and water. The product was purified by chromatography (10% MeOH/CH2Cl2) to afford 110 mg of 5-(2,4-difluoro-benzenesulfinyl)-2-methanesulfonyl-6-methoxy-quinoline 301; ([M+H]+)=398.
