Reaction Steps
2.7 g (9.81 mmol) of methyl 2-(bromomethyl)-3-nitrobenzoate (J. Org. Chem., 1999, 9731–9734) and 2.25 g (9.81 mmol) of tert-butyl 4-(2-aminoethyl)-1-piperidinecarboxylate (J. Med. Chem., 1997, 1779–1788) are dissolved in 45 ml of absolute DMF, 2.05 ml of triethylamine are added and the mixture is stirred at 70° C. for 2 h. After cooling, water is added to the reaction mixture. The organic phase is taken up in dichloromethane, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated. The crude product is purified by chromatography on silica gel.
