(Method 1): A solution of 0.065 g (0.151 mmol) (2R,4R)-4-(4-methoxy-benzylsulfanyl)-2-(3-pyrrol-1-yl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid butyl ester was dissolved in 2 ml TFA, cooled to 0° C. and treated with 0.24 ml (1.51 mmol) triethylsilane, stirred for 22 h at room temperature and treated again with 0.24 ml (1.51 mmol) triethylsilane after further 30 h the evaporated residue was purified by flash silica gel column (CH2Cl2/EtOAc 99:1) to give 10 mg of (2S,4R)-4-mercapto-2-(3-pyrrol-1-yl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid butyl ester, MS: 311 (MH+).
