The title compound was prepared from 3-(biphenyl-4-yloxy)-propan-1-ol (Example 291, Step 6) and 2-ethoxy-3-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)-propionic acid methyl ester (Example 378, Step 4) via the same procedure used for the preparation of (2S)-3-{4-[2-(biphenyl-4-yloxy)-ethoxy]-phenyl}-2-methoxy-propionic acid (Example 283, Step 3) to produce a white solid. The crude material was submitted to chiral HPLC separation to afford the single enantiomer isomer 2. MS (ES) for C26H28O5 [M+NH4]+: 438.0, [M+Na]+: 443.0.
