NBS (686 mg, 3.85 mmol) and AIBN (158 mg, 0.96 mmol) were added to a heterogeneous solution of 1-((2-pyridin-4-yl)thiazol-4-yl)-3-(6-methylpyridin-2-yl)urea (600 mg, 1.93 mmol, Example. 6) in CCl4 (25 mL) and the resulting mixture was heated at reflux for 2 h. After cooling to RT, a precipitate formed and was collected, rinsing with hexane to give a white solid. MS m/z: 392.0 (M+2H). Calc'd for C15H12BrN5OS-390.26.
