Reaction Steps
A mixture of 4.2 parts of 1-[p-(2-thenoyl)phenyl]cyclopropanecarbonyl chloride and 50 parts of ammonium hydroxide is stirred for 3 hours. The precipitated product is filtered off, washed with water, dried and crystallized from 2-propanol, yielding 2 parts of 1-[p-(2-thenoyl)phenyl]cyclopropanecarboxamide; m.p. 173.7° C (dec.).
