Reaction Steps
Using the procedure of Example 4, 1.5 g of 2-aminothiazole and 1.041 g of the product of Step A were reacted and after the addition of N hydrochloric acid, the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was washed with water, dried and evaporated to dryness. The residue was chromatographed over silica gel and was eluted with ethyl acetate to obtain 2-(1-chloroethyl)-4-hydroxy-N-(2-thiazolyl)-8-trifluoromethyl-3-quinoline-carboxamide which after crystallization from ether melted at ≃190° C. (decomposition).
