Procedure

Ethyl 2-methoxyimino-2-(5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)acetate (anti isomer) (1.2 g.) and 1N aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (10.5 ml.) were treated according to a similar manner to that of Example 1(a)(5) to give 2-methoxyimino-2-(5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)acetic acid (anti isomer) (1.06 g.), mp 173° to 174° C. (dec.).
