Reaction Steps
A solution of 2-(2-aminoethyl)-5-{[4-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-3-ethoxycarbonyl-5-methoxycarbonyl-6-methyl-1,4-dihydropyridin-2-yl]methoxymethyl}tetrazole (0.33 g), triethylamine (65 mg) and methanesulphonyl chloride (71 mg) in dichloromethane (15 ml) was heated under reflux for 2 hours and then evaporated. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica (6 g) using dichloromethane plus from 0 to 1% by volume of methanol as eluant. Appropriate fractions were combined and evaporated. The residual solid was recrystallized from ethyl acetate and dried to give the title compound (111 mg) as a hydrate, m.p. 245°-247° C. Found: C,46.23; H,5.02; N,13.82. C23H28Cl2N6O7S.H2O requires: C,46.26; H,5.19; N,14.08%.
