The procedure described in Example 12(c) was repeated, but using 125 mg. (0.25 mmole) of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-3-(1-naphthyl)-L-alanyl-L-histidine hydrazide and 65 mg. (0.25 mmole) of the alcohol prepared as described in (a) above. There were obtained 42 mg. of the desired compound as a white powdery solid, melting at 196°-198° C.; [α]24 -57.8° (C=0.5, methanol).
