Procedure
2.25 ml of n-butyl isocyanate are dropped to a suspension of 3.64 g of 3-methyl-4-methylene-2-oxo-1-oxa-3,8-diazaspiro[4,5]decane in 18 ml of acetonitrile while stirring under argon. Since the reaction is exothermic, the temperature is maintained at 25° to 30° C. by cooling. After 15 minutes the reaction mixture is evaporated under reduced pressure. The white solid evaporation residue is recrystallized from ethyl acetate to obtain the title compound in 91.3% yield, m.p.: 129°-130° C.
