To a solution of 1-(2-(3-azidopropyl)-5-(2,5-difluorophenyl)-2-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-3(2H)-yl)-2,2-dimethylpropan-1-one (100 mg, 0.225 mmol) in MeOH (3 mL) was added 1N HCl/MeOH (1 mL) followed by 10% Pd/C (40 mg, wet, Degussa type). After stirring under a H2 balloon for 3 hours, the mixture was filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the product as a white foam. MS ESI (+) m/z 418 (M+1) detected; 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.47 (m, 1H), 7.43 (d, 2H, J=7 Hz), 7.35 (t, 2H, J=7 Hz), 7.25 (m, 1H), 7.11 (m, 2H), 3.47 (m, 1H), 3.22 (m, 1H), 2.85 (m, 2H), 2.33 (m, 1H), 1.92 (m, 1H), 1.48 (m, 2H), 1.39 (s, 9H).
