Reaction Steps

The compound of Example 21 (90 mg, 0.139 mmol) is mixed under argon with 3-metachloroperbenzoic acid (72.5 mg, 0.210 mmol) in anhydrous dichloromethane (10 ml). The mixture is stirred at ambient temperature. The progression of the reaction is monitored by TLC (eluent DCM/EtOH: 95/05). After 4 days, starting compound remains. A fresh quantity of metachloroperbenzoic acid (0.124 g, 0.36 mmol) is added to the reaction medium and the reaction medium is stirred at ambient temperature for another 4 days. The solvent is evaporated off under reduced pressure and the residue is purified by flash chromatography (BIOTAGE 25+M column, gradient dichloromethane/acetone: 0% to 8% of acetone). The expected compound is obtained in the form of a white solid, with a yield of 50%. Melting point: 108-110° C.
