Reaction Steps

To a solution of 23 (6.63 g, 25.0 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (30 mL) was added TFA (30 mL) dropwise at 0° C. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h, then concentrated. EtOAc (150 mL) was added, washed successively with sat. NaHCO3 (2×20 mL) and brine (20 mL), dried (Na2SO4), and concentrated to give D as a light yellow oil (6.83 g, 99%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.94 (br d, 1H), 7.30 (m, 5H), 4.80 (m, 1H), 4.21 (q, 2H), 3.70 (dd, 1H), 3.28 (dd, 1H), 2.99 (m, 2H), 2.74 (dd, 1H), 2.25 (br s, 2H), 1.30 (m, 12H).
