2-Chloro-1-phenylethanone (42.6 mg, 0.27 mmol) was added to solution of (R)-quinuclidin-3-yl 2-(benzo[b]thiophen-3-yl)-2-(methyl(phenyl)amino)acetate (C35) (112 mg, 0.27 mmol) in acetonitrile (3 ml). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 3 hours, and then the solvent was evaporated under vacuum. The residue was triturated with Et2O, filtered and dried to obtain (3R)-3-(2-(benzo[b]thiophen-3-yl)-2-(methyl(phenyl)amino)acetoxy)-1-(2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octane chloride (112.2 mg, 72.6% yield).
