Prepared as in Example 215c from tert-butyl 4-hydroxybutylcarbamate and 2,6-dinitrobenzonitrile in 7% yield as a pale yellow solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 1.35 (s, 9H), 1.52-1.55 (m, 2H), 1.72-1.76 (m, 2H), 2.94-2.99 (m, 2H), 4.24 (t, J=6.8 Hz, 2H), 6.86 (brs, 1H), 7.69-7.72 (m, 1H), 7.85-7.90 (m, 2H).
