A round bottomed flask is charged with isatoic anhydride (5 g, 30.6 mmol) and (4-amino-phenyl)-acetic acid ethyl ester (6.05 g, 33.7 mmol). Acetic acid (11 ml) is added and the reaction is heated at 90° C. for 40 minutes and then allowed to cool to RT. The resulting suspension is diluted with distilled water to give a white precipitate. The precipitate is filtered, washed with water and vacuum dried to afford the title compound.
