A mixture of benzyl 5-(3-(hydroxymethyl)-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylcarbamate (1.04 g, 2.28 mmol) and 10% palladium on carbon (38 mg) in ethanol (20 mL) was placed under hydrogen (balloon) and stirred at rt for 1 h. The mixture was filtered over Celite and concentrated under reduced pressure. The white solid was triturated with diethyl ether to afford the title compound as a white solid (660 mg, 90%). MS (ESI): m/z [M+NH2]+ 305.2
