A mixture of 2-fluoro-2′-(trifluoromethyl)-3,4′-bipyridine (200 mg, 0.83 mmol), 4-(pyridin-2-ylamino)phenol (185 mg, 0.99 mmol) and cesium carbonate (323 mg, 0.99 mmol) in DMSO (3.3 mL) was heated to 80° C. for 4 h. The mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with H2O and filtered. The solids were washed with H2O and air-dried. The solids were suspended in sat aq. NaHCO3 and extracted with CH2Cl2 (3×). The combined organics were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified using column chromatography (EtOAc/Hexanes=0→40%) to give the title compound. MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 409 (M+1). IC50 (uM) 0.022.
