This material was prepared in 96% yield from 3-amino-5-benzylthio-1,2,4-triazole and 4-methyl-3-oxopentanal following the general procedure described in Example 7. The desired product was isolated as a solid, m.p. 65°-66° C. IR and 1H NMR were in agreement with the assigned structure.
