4-(2,2-Difluorocyclopropyloxy)aniline was dissolved in dioxane (10 ml) and treated with tricloromethyl chloroformate (0.6 ml). The mixture was heated at 100° C. for 3 hours whilst excluding moisture. The mixture was then cooled to room temperature and 3,4-bis-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,5-dihydropyrazole (2.64 g; 9 mmol), dissolved in dichloromethane (30 ml), was added with stirring. After 3 hours the reaction mixture was concentrated and the residue chromatographed on silica gel.
