Procedure

The product obtained in Step 1 (15 g) was added all at once at room temperature to a solution of 12 g of sodium hydrosulfide in 300 ml of water with stirring under a nitrogen stream. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for one hour, the insoluble matters were removed by filtration, the pH was adjusted to 1.0 with concentrated hydrochloric acid, and the formed crystals were collected by filtration and washed twice with 20 ml water, affording 11 g of the objective compound as yellow crystals. M.P.: >300° C.
