To a solution of 1.4 g of the above free base in 10 ml of ethanol is added 0.8 g of maleic acid to dissolve and then diethyl ether is added. Precipitated crystals are collected by filtration and recrystallized from ethanol-diethyl ether to give 3/2 maleate monohydrate of the objective compound (compound 1). Melting point 133°-135° C.
