(R,S)-2-Chloro-6-[4-(1-(3-(1-methyl)piperidinyl)methyl))piperidinylamino]-9-cyclopentylpurine is prepared from 2,6-dichloro-9-cyclopentylpurine, (R,S)-4-amino-1-(3-(1-methylpiperidinyl)methyl)piperidine, and triethylamine essentially as described above in Example 1, Scheme A, step b.
