2-Oxo-2,3-dihydrobenzoxazole-6-carboxylic acid [3-(4-benzylpiperidin-1-yl)-2-(tert-butyldimethylsilanyloxy)propyl]amide (686 mg, 1.31 mmol) and Lawesson's reagent (530 mg, 1.31 mmol) in dioxane (5 mL) were heated under reflux conditions for 2 hours. The solvent was removed, and the product was purified by chromatography (silica gel, 0-50% EtOAc in heptane) to give 2-oxo-2,3-dihydrobenzoxazole-6-carbothioic acid [3-(4-benzylpiperidin-1-yl)-2-(tert-butyldimethylsilanyloxy)propyl]amide (559 mg, 79%): as a green gum:
