Reaction Steps
A solution of Example 22C (489 mg, 3.76 mmol) and p-toluoyl chloride (0.560 mL, 4.14 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (8 mL) at 0° C. was treated with triethylamine (0.520 mL, 3.76 mmol). After 6 hours, the mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (25 mL) and washed sequentially with 1M HCl (10 mL), saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution (10 mL), water (15 mL), and brine (10 mL). The organic portion was dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to provide an oily residue which was purified by flash chromatography (elution with 50% ethyl acetate/hexanes) to provide 750 mg of the desired product as a sticky white solid.
