85 g (0.54 mole) of α-methyl-β-chloroethyl chloroformate are added dropwise to 77 g (0.5 mole) of 4-amino-3-nitrophenol and 27 g of calcium carbonate in 250 ml of dioxane at 70° C. After 2 hours at 90° C., the inorganic salts are filtered off hot and the filtrate is concentrated completely. The desired intermediate product is thereby obtained in the form of a reddish oil and is used as such in the following stage.
