To a solution of 500 mg of N-[3-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl) phenyl-4-(tetradecyloxy)benzeneacetamide in a minimum of ether is treated with 70 ml of ether saturated with hydrogen chloride. The resulting solid is collected via centrifugation, washed with ether and vacuum dried to give 0.4 g of the desired product as a white solid, m.p. 175°-178° C.
