Reaction Steps

To a solution of alcohol (110 mg) from Step 6 in t-BuOH (6 mL) was added a KH2PO4 buffer solution (pH 7, 4 mL) and a solution of KMnO4 (90 mg/2 mL H2O). After 3 hrs at r.t., the reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc and an aqueous solution of Na2SO3. The mixture was then acidified to pH 2, the organic phase was separated, washed with H2O, brine, dried over MgSO4 and evaporated to give the title product which was used as such for the next step.
