Procedure
A suspension of N-[3-(2-phenylethyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5yl]-4-[3-(1-piperidinylmethyl)phenoxy]butanamide (0.4 g) and lithium aluminium hydride (0.33 g) in dioxan (50 ml) was heated under reflux in a nitrogen atmosphere during 12 h. The cool mixture was quenched with water (50 ml) and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic extracts were evaporated and the residue was crystallized from ethyl acetate to give the title compound as a white solid (0.23 g) m.p. 146°-7° tlc System A, Rf 0.71.
