Into 300 ml of dry toluene, were dissolved 10.8 g of oa (6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)-propanoic acid chloride, followed by introducing dry ammonia at a temperature not more than 15° C. for 30 minutes. Stirring was continued at room temperature for 3 hours, and then precipitated while solid was filtered off. The resulting white solid was washed with toluene and then water, followed by recrystallizing with ethanol to obtain 10.0 g of oa (6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)-propanamide.
