Reaction Steps
To a solution of 7.2 g of the product of Step C in 73 ml of methylene chloride, there were added at -10° C., 13 g of tetrabromoethane and 10.3 g of triphenylphosphine and the tion medium was stirred for one hour at 0° C. and chromatographed on silica (eluant: ethyl acetate-cyclohexane 7-3) to obtain 7.49 g of the desired compound.
