The title compound was prepared from 4-hydroxy-1-methylindole (40 mg, 0.27 mmol), 3-bromobenzaldehyde (48 mg, 0.27 mmol) and malononitrile (18 mg, 0.27 mmol) similar to Example 24 to yield 79 mg (80%) of white solids. 1H NMR (CDCl3): 7.36-7.31 (m, 2H), 7.21-7.16 (m, 2H), 7.06-7.01 (m, 2H), 6.73 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 6.57 (dd, J=3.0 Hz, J=0.9 Hz, 1H), 4.82 (s, 1H), 4.69 (brs, 2H), 3.78 (s, 3H).
