The title compound was prepared from 5-nitrothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde, malononitrile and 4-hydroxy-1-methyl-indole similar to Example 22, yielded 0.002 g (9%) of a brown solid. 1H-NMR (CDCl3): 7.70 (dd, J=17.0, 3.8 Hz, 1H), 7.12 (m, J=8.2, 4.1, 2.7 Hz, 2H), 6.99 (d, J=4.1 Hz, 1H), 6.91 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 1H), 6.56 (d, J=2.7 Hz, 1H), 5.14 (s, 1), 4.88 (brs, 2H), 3.80 (s, 3H).
