(R)-2-(5-Nitro-2-trifluoromethyl-phenoxymethyl)-pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (2.19 g, 5.60 mmol) was dissolved in 40 mL MeOH and 10 mL dioxane. To the nitrogen-degassed solution was added 10% Pd/C (0.3 g). The reaction was stirred vigorously at RT under 1 atm H2 gas for 42 h. The reaction was filtered through Celite® and concentrated in vacuo to yield the title compound as a white foam. MS (MNa+)=383.3; Calc'd 360.38 for C17H23F3N2O3.
