4-(2-Amino-3-nitro-pyridin-4-yl)-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (5) (260 mg, 0.81 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (10 ml) with 10% Pd/C (40 mg). It was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere for 18 hours. It was filtered through CELITE to remove the palladium, and the solvent was removed under vacuum to yield the title product 6 (200 mg (85%), 0.62 mmol). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 7.29 (d, J=5 Hz, 1H), 6.29 (d, J=5 Hz, 1H), 5.30 (s, 2H), 4.21 (s, 2H), 3.48 (m, 4H), 2.74 (m, 4H), 1.41 (s, 9H). MS (ESI-POS): [M+H]+=294.
