To a solution of the title compound of Example 2, 1-ethyl-3-{4-[5-methyl-2-phenyl-oxazol-4-ylmethoxy]-benzenesulfonylamino}-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (0.09 g, 0.18 mmol) in dioxane (4 mL) is added 2N sodium hydroxide (4 mL) at RT. The reaction mixture is stirred for 4 days. The reaction mixture is acidified with ice-cold 2 N hydrochloric acid (HCl) and placed in an ice bath for 1 h. The solid formed is separated, washed with water and dried under vacuum. The product, 1-ethyl-3-{4-[5-methyl-2-phenyl-oxazol-4-ylmethoxy]-benzenesulfonylamino}-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid is obtained as a white solid: MS [m/z] 481.1 [M-1]−.
