Reaction Steps
1 N NaOH is added up to a pH of 9 to a solution of 500 mg (1.07 mmol) of 2-(3-carbamimidoylphenoxy) pentanoic acid (2′-methanesulfonylbiphenyl-4-yl)amide acetate (3) in 40 ml of dichloromethane kept at 5° C. 0.108 ml (1.40 mmol) of methyl chloroformate is then added. During the following hour, the pH is kept at a value of 9 by addition of further 1 N NaOH. The organic phase is then separated off, washed with water, dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated. A colourless solid is obtained; FAB 524
