To a suspension of the product of example 2, step (b) (2 g) in boiling water (40 ml) was added Na2S2O4 (5.4 g) portion-wise. The suspension was allowed to cool and then 50% sulphuric acid was added slowly and then the mixture was cooled to 0° C. The solid was isolated by filtration and washed with cold water, then dried over P2O5 at 50° C. to give the sub-titled product as a yellow solid.
