Procedure
To a suspension of the chloride 52 (500 mg, 1.1 mmol) in DME (10 mL) was added ethanolamine (336 mg, 5.5 mmol). The reaction mixture refluxed for 2 hrs, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure; the residue was dissolved in EtOAc and washed with water. The organic phase was collected, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated. The remaining solid was triturated with Et2O to afford the title compound 59 as a yellow solid (200 mg, 41% yield). 1H NMR (DMSO) δ (ppm): 8.57 (d, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 8.47 (dd, J=2.7 and 10.4 Hz, 1H), 8.21 (m, 1H), 8.17 (s, 1H), 7.83 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.71 (t, J=8.6 Hz, 1H), 7.44 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 6.91 (d, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 4.48 (t, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 3.75 (s, 2H), 3.45 (q, J=5.6 Hz, 2H), 3.33 (m, 1H), 3.15 (d, J=5.1 Hz, 2H), 2.56 (t, J=5.7 Hz, 2H).
