A mixture of 5,6-difluoro-N-({1-[(4-hydroxytetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)methyl]piperidin-4-yl}methyl)-3-isopropyl-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzimidazole-1-carboxamide (Step 3 of Example 10, 113 mg, 0.242 mmol) and 10% HCl-methanol (5 mL) was stirred for 1 h. Then, the volatile components were removed under reduced pressure and the residue was recrystallized from ethanol-diethyl ether to give 88 mg (72%) of the title compound as a colorless powder.
