1.00 g 5,7-dichloro-6-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (prepared as described under example 19) are dissolved in 20 ml methanol and 20 ml dichlormethane. 1.2 g sodium methylate is added at 0° C. and stirred at room temperature for 2 h. The solution is diluted with water and dichloromethane. The organic phase separated and the water phase is extracted with dichloromethane. The combined organic layers are dried over Na2SO4 and the solvent is evaporated. The crude product is used without further purification.
