Procedure
An aqueous solution of NaOH (2 M, 0.8 mL) was added to a solution of 1-benzenesulfonyl-5-fluoro-3-[3-methyl-4-(1-methyl-pyrrolidin-3-yl)-benzenesulfonyl]-1H-indole (0.209 g, 0.4045 mmol) in MeOH (1 mL) and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 5 hours. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure and the crude material was purified via flash chromatography (DCM/MeOH/NH4OH) to give 0.102 g of 5-fluoro-3-[3-methyl-4-(1-methyl-pyrrolidin-3-yl)-benzenesulfonyl]-1H-indole as a white foam. MP=86.5-93.5° C.; MS (M+H)=378.
