A mixture of (S)-2-{[(S)1-(3-fluoro-benzenesulfonyl)-piperidine-2-carbonyl]-amino}-3-(4-isopropoxy-phenyl)-propionic acid benzyl ester (0.59 g, 1.00 mmol), ethanol (20 mL) and 10% Pd on carbon (108 mg, 0.1 mmol) was hydrogenated at 30 psi for 2 h. The catalyst was filtered through Celite®. The filtrate was concentrated to afford 410 mg (83.0%) of the title compound.
