N-(9-Methyl-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]non-3-yl)-2-phenylbenzoxazole-4-carboxamide was prepared from 3-amino-9-methyl-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane dihydrochloride and 2-phenylbenzoxazole-4-carboxylic acid using conditions similar to those described for Step C in Example 1. This compound was obtained in 40% yield as a white solid; mp 182-185° C.; 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 9.18 (d, J=6.5 Hz, 1H), 8.25 (m, 2H), 8.19 (dd, J=7.8, 0.9 Hz, 1H), 7.72 (dd, J=8.1, 1.0 Hz, 1H), 7.55-7.65 (m, 3H), 7.47 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 4.71-4.58 (m, 1H), 3.30 (m, 2H), 2.76 (m, 2H), 2.69 (s, 3H), 2.38-1.33 (m, 8H); MS (APCI) m/z 376 [M+H]+
