1.83 g 2-amino-3-bromo-5-nitropyridine 0.29 g PdCl2(PPh3)2 and 79 mg CuI were mixed in 36 ml dry THF and 3.45 ml triethylamine and 1.12 g phenylacetylene were added. Stirring was continued at room temperature for 12 hrs, then the solvent was removed and the residue purified by flash chromatography on silica in ethyl acetate/heptane eluent.
