Reaction Steps
To a solution of ethyl 7-(4-(4-tert-butylcyclohexylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)-6-chlorochroman-4-carboxylate (0.037 g, 0.072 mmol) in 3:1 THF/methanol (1 ml) was added 1M sodium hydroxide (0.15 ml, 0.15 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 16 hours at ambient temperature. The reaction was concentrated and the residue was diluted with dilute hydrochloric acid and extracted twice with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with saturated sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to yield 32 mg of the title compound (91% yield). MS (apci) m/z=486.1 (M+H).
