To a solution of ethyl 6-chloro-7-(4-(3-phenylcyclohexylcarbamoyl)phenoxy)chroman-4-carboxylate (58 mg, 0.11 mmol) in 3:1 THF/ethanol (1 ml) was added 1M sodium hydroxide (228 μl, 0.23 mmol), and the reaction was stirred for 16 hours at ambient temperature. The reaction was concentrated and then acidified with 1M HCl and extracted twice with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with saturated sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to yield 55 mg of the title compound (100% yield). MS (apci) m/z=506.1 (M+H).
