Into a microwave vial was added 1-[5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methyl-3-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)phenyl]ethanone (0.040 g, 0.12 mmol), 4-bromo-1,3-thiazole (0.024 g, 0.15 mmol), 1 M sodium carbonate solution (0.30 mL, 0.31 mmol), 1,4-dioxane (1 mL) and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (8.5 mg, 0.0074 mmol). The mixture was bubbled with N2 for 5 minutes, and then heated at 95° C. overnight. The cooled reaction was purified on silica gel column (eluting with 0 to 30% EtOAc in hexanes) to give the desired product. LCMS calculated for C13H13ClNO2S (M+H)+: m/z=282.0. found: 282.0.
