To a solution of tert-butyl[1-(5-chloro-3-{2-[(chloroacetyl)(isopropyl)amino]-1-hydroxyethyl}-2-methoxy-4-methylphenyl)ethyl]carbamate (22 mg, 0.047 mmol) in THF (1.0 mL) cooled at 0° C., sodium hydride (3.6 mg, 0.094 mmol; 60% dispersion in mineral oil) was added and the mixture was stirred for 1 hour. The mixture was quenched with water and extracted with EtOAc. The combined extracts were washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, and concentrated to give the desired compound (20 mg, 97%). LCMS calculated for C22H33ClN2O5Na (M+Na)+: m/z=463.2. found: 463.1.
